Foundational Principles

Communication

Effectively communicating with team members and auditees regarding scheduling,
work timelines and due dates. This includes asking for assistance and clarification when
elements of the audit are creating delays and/or non-responses are being received by
the auditee. Every request for information must be sent with a corresponding deadline.

Quality

Producing quality work papers and reports which involves self checking work (cross
referencing) for thoroughness and completion. This includes tracing work papers to the
report, math & spell checking your own work and proper IT hygiene both on the network and in email correspondence.

Timeliness

Completing work on budget and on time following mutually agreed-upon due dates and milestones. This includes consideration of personal scheduled time off and unscheduled time off and the effect on work completion.

Professionalism

Continuing to work on improvement of professional goals including certifications,
continuing education and writing & computer skills. This also includes reading Journal
and other industry news article updates regarding governmental auditing. Attending
local, regional and national conferences & volunteering on committees.

Teamwork & Attitude

In a family-owned small business environment teamwork and attitude from staff
including communication, encouragement & mentoring of other staff members and
recognition of personal & professional achievements is expected.
